Saint

St. Macrina the Younger

St. Macrina was a fourth-century Christian, sister of saints, and a model of ascetic and family life.

Biography

St. Macrina was born into a deeply Christian family in Cappadocia. Sister of St. Basil the Great and St. Gregory of Nyssa, she had strong spiritual influence within her household.

She chose a life of prayer, simplicity, and dedication to God. Her importance also lies in the witness of women who sustained the Church's faith through formation, example, and hidden life.

Macrina inspires us to cultivate spiritual maturity within the family, seek real simplicity, and help others grow in faith without controlling their path.
