St. Ignatius of Loyola was founder of the Society of Jesus and a master of spiritual discernment.

Biography

St. Ignatius of Loyola was born in the Basque region and, after a serious wound, underwent a deep conversion. Reading the life of Christ and the saints transformed his desires and directed his search for God.

He founded the Society of Jesus and left the Church a spiritual tradition centered on discernment, the Spiritual Exercises, and readiness to serve wherever the need is greater.

Ignatius inspires us to examine interior movements, choose freely before God, and order life toward loving and serving with greater clarity.
