St. Bartholomew the Apostle

St. Bartholomew was an apostle of Jesus, traditionally identified with Nathanael.

Biography

St. Bartholomew belongs to the group of the Twelve apostles. Tradition associates him with Nathanael, presented in the Gospel as a sincere man who recognizes Jesus after being called to encounter him.

As an apostle, his importance lies in the witness of the first men sent by Christ. The Church's faith was handed on by concrete people who heard, followed, and proclaimed the Lord.

Bartholomew inspires us to respond to Jesus' invitation with sincerity, without masks, and to lead others toward their own encounter with Christ.
