Biography
The Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary is the solemnity in which the Church celebrates Mary fully associated with Christ's victory. She is contemplated as the Mother of the Lord taken into God's glory, body and soul.
This celebration points to Christian hope: God does not abandon his children to death, but calls the whole person to eternal life. Mary appears as a sign of what Christ's grace desires to accomplish in the Church.
The Assumption inspires us to live with eyes turned toward heaven without escaping earth, caring for body, soul, and present responsibilities with hope.
